Ernie Jordan was one of the finest football players to ever wear the orange and black at Los Gatos High School. Jordan was recruited as a football player by San Jose State and might have gone on to become of the finest Spartans of all time. Well, he might have ... had his best sport not been baseball. Ernie Jordan is among the 10 former Wildcats who will take their rightful spots in the Hall of Fame at the 12th annual induction ceremony to be held on May 2, 2015, at La Rinconada Country Club.

Los Gatos didn't need sophomore Katie Kaminski to drop a long birdie putt to beat Monta Vista in a Santa Clara Valley Athletic League golf match last week --the Wildcats were cruising to a 218-274 win over the Matadors. Still, whether they need it or not, the Wildcats were all smiles after Kaminski buried a 25-foot downhill putt for a birdie on the sixth hole at La Rinconada Country Club on Oct. 14.

Los Gatos girls golf coach Jim Marino couldn't have asked for more from his team captain, Liam Sklar, in three Santa Clara Valley Athletic League matches last week. The junior standout won medalist honors twice--once with a 1-over par 37 at La Rinconada Country Club--and was just a stroke away from the medalist spot in another match as the Wildcats breezed to three team wins last week.

The best round of the year shot by a Los Gatos golfer at La Rinconada Country Club this fall was a 3-over par 39 recorded by sophomore Nicole Foster in a win over Homestead back on Sept. 9. Four weeks later, that score still stands as the standard for the Gatos girls on their home course, but Foster matched her best effort last week, and it was enough to lead the Wildcats to a solid 219-241 win over rival Saratoga on Sept. 23.
